While courage helps us to follow through on our choices, the gift of Right Judgement, or Counsel, helps us to be certain what the right choice is. It is how we choose right actions and how we help others to know what is right. Having the gift of right judgement or counsel helps us to grow in goodness.
May the Holy Spirit illumine all believers in the light of Hope.
We listen to God’s Word:
I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
I keep the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
(pause for a moment of silent reflection)
Let us pray
+ In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O Holy Spirit, by Your power, and grace, we can grow in our conscience and judgement.
By Your love, you protect us and care for us.
And so, we ask for Your gift of Counsel so that we may show the fruits of peace, goodness, and self control.
And so together we pray:
Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful
and enkindle in them the fire of your love.
Send forth your Spirit and they shall be created,
and you shall renew the face of the earth.
