O Sacred Heart of Jesus, we entrust to you our own family and the whole human family. Show us, Lord, the treasures of love, goodness and mercy in your heart so we may be truly loving, good and merciful.
We now listen to God’s Word.
But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.
(pause for a moment of silent reflection)
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, full of compassion and love, help us to remember when we show mercy and forgiveness to one another in our families, we are sharing your love. May we be people who show mercy and forgiveness with everyone we encounter.
Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place all our trust in you.
